Client: The Cloudy Collection

A limited edition letterpress print for the third edition of my quarterly project, the Cloudy Collection. The text is adapted from a piece of folk art by Ed Larson that we had over our fireplace the entire time I was growing up. That wood carving said “Wood Is Good”.

These illustrations accompany a Q&A column called Ask Ester in a trade magazine for small biodiesel manufacturers and distributors.

My old friend (and former employer) Kevin Wade asked me to participate in his new randomized t-shirt project, Nonsek. I provided a pile of doodles and a color palette, and Nonsek made a “machine” to mix it all together and print it on a shirt. Try it out: hit the “REMIX” button in the upper right on this page!

Portland, OR, writer and writing coach and instructor, Becca Deysach, opened Ibex Studios in 2008 to help writers stay creative and active.

Capsule commissioned these character illustrations for a concept they plan to execute internally and with interested partners. The Gobee Galaxy is a world where these small aliens are looking for a place to relocate after they have learned from the mistakes of their home planet. They plan to pass along their knowledge to the children of Earth, one good deed at a time.

Imagehaus brought me in to help come up with concepts for CVS Pharmacy’s in-store Halloween decorations. I had a ton of fun doodling characters and coming up with concepts. Ween the Candy Fiend won my attention, and we dubbed his candy aisle the “Hall of Ween!”

While Ween didn’t make it all the way to the stores, he still haunts my sweet tooth.
